Judy Moody

Earlier this summer, Carly and I went to see the movie Judy Moody. In the movie Judy and her aunt make hats out of garbage can lids. Then they have to place the hats on the lion statues at the library to earn thrill points. Carly and I wanted to earn thrill points too so...
We decorated paper plates to make hats for the lion statues in front of our neighbors house.

We had to try them out first.

Then we had to put the hats on the lions without getting caught.

100 thrill points earned!!! I hope the neighbors didn't mind.

Camping

Kamn took Carly, Nicholas, and James camping. It sounds like they had a great time. Kamn's brother Tory was there too. He helped to get these fantastic pictures.

Flaming Gorge - Boating

We went boating with the Foster family. We had so much fun!!!
James did not love the life jacket.

Matthew hated his life jacket!

Carly camped with the Fosters for four days before we got there.

I know you can't tell who this is but it is Kamn water skiing. The batteries in the camera died before I could get a good picture of him.

Brighton Lakes Trail - August 2011

We had so much fun last weekend we decided to go hiking again. Lake Mary is on the Brighton Lakes Trail. This one was a little tougher then last weekend.

The hike does have several steep areas. Everyone did great with very little grumbling.

James was sick for about three days last week. He said his legs hurt. Kamn ended up carrying him most of the hike.
Hayden carried Matthew in the backpack during the entire hike. Thanks Hayden, you are a great big brother!

As you can see the sun is going down as we are hiking back. Hayden is still carrying Matthew. He has gone up ahead of the rest of us. As he continues, crossing the path is a very young moose. Hayden quickly thinks, baby...mother, I'm in trouble. Suddenly he starts back tracking quickly. That's when I notice the baby moose and the mother. Luckily Hayden is gaining distance from the moose. Remember he is carrying my baby!

We ended up having to wait several minutes for the moose to cross our path and move along until it was safe to continue hiking down the mountain.

We enjoyed seeing the animals, beautiful mountains, the lake, and the exercise.

Lagoon 2011

Rides, rides, and more rides. Most of the family loves to go to Lagoon. I personally cannot get enough!!! We had so much fun. As you can tell from the lack of pictures of Kamn, he doesn't like to ride. We only got him on a few that day. He insists he loves to watch us.

Nick's new bicycle

Nick's school is part of the Ken Garff's Road to Success reading program at school. Nick was one of four students to win a bicycle at school this year. He has been riding his new bike all summer. He loves it. I am so proud of you Nicholas for reading, keep it up! You are so smart! Thanks Ken Garff this fabulous program.
